I’ve started posting on Substack Notes because Twitter is a shitshow, Mastodon is not my vibe, Hive is messy, and Post feels like work. I already want to make more time to write newsletters, so why not spend more time in this interface? So, Notes: Here’s one of mine:
I genuinely do not know if this is a hot take or not, but I don’t want to memorize a list of standard book tropes to be able to decode what you’re telling me a book is about. I don’t have a type of story I enjoy more or less than others. Just give me an idea of what it’s about without the jargony shorthand?
Join me there and let’s discuss. Here’s the Substack boilerplate on all that:
Notes is a new space on Substack for us to share links, short posts, quotes, photos, and more. I plan to use it for things that don’t fit in the newsletter, like work-in-progress or quick questions or one-off ideas like this one.
How to join
Head to substack.com/notes or find the “Notes” tab in the Substack app. As a subscriber to It Just Doesn't Matter, you’ll automatically see my notes. Feel free to like, reply, or share them around!
You can also share notes of your own. I hope this becomes a space where every reader of It Just Doesn't Matter can share thoughts, ideas, and interesting quotes from the things we're reading on Substack and beyond.
If you encounter any issues, you can always refer to the Notes FAQ for assistance. Looking forward to seeing you there!
